Maso Raris – Dismóni – Zocarìl – Piana di Sirór – Maso Raris
Details
Description
The meadows of the locations of Dismóni and Cosaipi, facing the entire subgroup of Sass Maór, belonging to the Dolomites of the Pala Group, are undoubtedly a very popular tourist destination, thanks both to the excellent status of their historic huts with their architectural details and to their extremely well maintained meadows.
This itinerary leads first to the meadows of Dismóni and then continues downhill towards the village of Sirór, along the beautiful historical path now converted into a thematic trail called “Nettare di vita – Prim1er0… a dieci passi dal cielo”, which leads directly to the cycle – pedestrian path that connects Sirór with San Martino di Castrozza; the way back initially climbs along the cycle – pedestrian path and then faces a last ramp along a main CAI (Italian Alpine Club) path that leads directly back to the location of Valmesta.
From Maso Raris (1,154 m asl), leave the Maso ground at the end of the upper parking lot and cut across under the forest. After 50 m you will reach a grass field with the neighboring houses visible looking down, on your right. Keep going at the same altitude until the end of the grass field, then continue uphill in the forest. After a first stretch of 150 m between the trees, you get in front of a short but steep slope, which you climb up while keeping the same direction. Once up the slope, you will see on the right a white house with a so-called Vivaio Forestale (tr. forest nursery) next to it. Once reached the Vivaio Forestale (1,220 m asl), the hike continues going up towards the W along the trail of the Signpost No. 359, towards Pian del Tèrmen / Malga Crél / San Martino di Castrozza. The track, sometimes steep but always wide and well marked, goes up the eastern slopes of Mount Bedolé leading to the crossroads of the Pian del Tèrmen (1,400 m asl).
From the crossroads, the trail turns left, towards Dismóni / Prati di Cosaipi, following the gravel road of the Signpost No. 377. After a flat stretch of 500 m, the road begins to descend more steeply towards the meadows of Dismóni. After two hairpin bends, the gravel road then leads to the paved access road to Dismóni, which forks from the main road SS 50 of Passo Rolle, just a few meters from the Dismóni Restaurant (1,257 m asl), visible in front of it with its beautiful sight over the Pala Group.
Once in front of the restaurant parking lot, the route continues on the left, following the gravel road of the Signpost No. 377 towards Prati di Cosaipi, which proceeds flat until reaching the junction with the paved ramp leading to the pretty church of San Valentino (on the right), a few meters before which the thematic trail called “Nettare di vita – Prim1er0… a dieci passi dal cielo” (tr. Primiero’s Nectar of life – ten steps far from the sky), which climbs from the village of Sirór, descends on the left. The thematic trail is structured around 10 points of interest, on which panels based on certain keywords are set up, offering the option for pondering.
The route hence proceeds downhill towards Sirór, along the thematic path immersed in the forest. After passing by the location of Mastiòza, the track leads to the location of Zocarìl, where it crosses the main road SS 50 and proceeds facing a final steep descent that leads to the Sirór – San Martino di Castrozza cycle – pedestrian path by the location known as Piana di Sirór, by the Cismón torrent bed.
Once on the cycle – pedestrian path, the itinerary proceeds to the left, going up the easy road on the orographic right of the torrent. After crossing a first bridge, the track reaches a junction by a second bridge called Pont del Fritz (927 m asl), where it keeps the left following the signs for Valmesta, along the Signpost No. 359. After about half a kilometer on the gravel road (which leads to the hydroelectric power station of Zivertaghe), The Signpost No. 359 turns steep to the left, closing the loop and returning, after a stretch of just under a kilometer, directly to the hamlet of Valmesta. In order to get back to Maso Raris, once in Valmesta, it will be sufficient to cross the main road SS 50 of Passo Rolle and go up the meadows for about a hundred meters.
