This hike is a physically quite demanding loop around Piné, located in the south-eastern part of the village of Transacqua. The route develops through a series of unpopular paths and also allows hikers to reach the tiny village of Oltra, standing on the border of the municipality of Mezzano.

As mentioned earlier, the initial climb might not be suitable for people who are not fit enough and for children who are too young, but once the first climb is over and the highest point is reached, the hike will turn into an extremely beautiful and comfortable walk in the woods. The first part of the walk can be quite muddy, and this is why we suggest not using simple sneakers.

Once past the first uphill section, the route goes along the border of biotope of Val di Castèl. After passing the tiny village of Oltra, the ascent on the way back towards Transacqua follows a main path entirely in the forest that leads to the Capitello del Sass (aka Madonna del Sass or Capitèllo dei Piài). The capital was rebuilt in 1837 for the grace received from the escaped danger of cholera.

The last stretch of the hike is located in Osne, a wonderful pasture for grazing, and gives an amazing view of Pale di San Martino. Although in a state of degradation and abandonment, in Osne you will be able to see the historic Colombaia tower dating back to the XVII century, as well as three old residential and agricultural buildings.

We suggest hiking this loop during the afternoon, to enjoy a better sun exposure.
